Social/Emotional Development Screening:
Is Your Child on Track?

Short parent questionnaires (Ages & Stages Questionnaires: Social Emotional) can help determine whether your child is on target for his or her age. These questionnaires assess a child's development in the areas of self-regulation, compliance, communication, adaptive, autonomy, affect and interaction with people. They correspond with regular check-up ages of 6, 12, 18, 24, 30, 36, 48 and 60 months. The ASQ:SE2 system is recognized as a national standard in screening.

Most health care providers, community early childhood agencies and childcare providers in Reno County have the questionnaire on hand. If the results indicate an issue, they are sent to a referral team (with your permission), who will contact you to recommend the best services for your situation.

The questionnaire is not available online for the general public at this time. Please contact the Early Education Center to complete a screening: 620.615.5850.

Developmental Screening

The Ages & Stages Questionnaire: Third Edition (ASQ-3) assesses a child's development in the areas of communication, gross motor, fine motor, problem solving, and personal social skills and can be taken every 2-, 4-, or 6-month period.

Most health care providers, community early childhood agencies and childcare providers in Reno County have the questionnaire on hand. If the results indicate an issue, they are sent to a referral team (with your permission), who will contact you to recommend the best services for your situation.
